Truthspeaking
"To truthspeak is to state clearly and simply what one thinks and feels. There is no judgment or expectation, no disguise of humor or force of anger. Realizing the power of words, we choose them wisely. Small-talk and gossip are avoided. Before speaking, we connect with our inner truth and with outer perspective. This manner of speech is sacred, because it wells up from the soul of our being rather than from our ego."
--From Tamarack Song's Sacred Speech

Truthlistening--the Other Half
"The greatest part of speaking is listening. When we speak before listening, we are only repeating what we already know. "Much chatter, little wit," say the Portuguese. "Listen! Or your tongue will make you deaf," admonish the Cherokee in a saying of theirs. When we listen before we speak, we gain perspective and new information. We are then able to speak with relevance. As an added bonus, we strengthen our relationships and our awareness skills improve."
